All Canadian Wine Championships

Welcome to the home of the All Canadian Wine Championships, the oldest and also the largest annual competition for Canadian wines in this country. Founded in 1981, this premier event annually sees an estimated 900 wines submitted from commercial wineries, coast to coast.

These wines are judged by a panel of highly respected sommeliers, writers, consultants and wine professionals assembled from across Canada and the United States. The results of their findings are calculated to award numerous gold, silver and bronze medals of merit and also six highly anticipated trophies to the top wines covering the categories of White Table Wine, Red Table Wine, Sparkling Wine, Fruit Wine, Dessert Wine and Best Value Wine.

Each of these trophies represents the pinnacle of excellence in Canadian wines After the judging the ACWC is once again partnering with Windsor Regional Hospital to host a “Passport to Canada” wine tasting and fundraiser on Thursday, May 15, 2008. This year, in response to public demand, the scope of the gala will expand to include formal, tutored wine tastings hosted by award-winning winemakers. Attendance is expected to increase to 750 people for the second year of this event. For details on attending this gala, go to www.wrh.on.ca

The ACWC competition is open to all commercially licensed wineries across Canada. For details on entering your wines for judging on May 12 to 14th, 2008, click here. Complete results will be posted to this site by May 17, 2008.
